Thailand has won the 2008 ‘Best of the Best’ TravelAge West WAVE Awards for ‘Destination with Highest Client Satisfaction — Asia’.
Mr Santi Chudintra, Director of The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Los Angeles office (TATLA) represented Thailand at the awards presentation ceremony hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on 7 June.
The prestigious annual awards are organized by TravelAge West, the leading travel trade magazine covering the fourteen states on the west coast of the United States. The publication is widely read by travel agents and other key players in the travel-related industry, with a readership of 26,000 that it has served for 39 years. The biweekly trade magazine is a main source of news and product information for the region’s agents and travel executives.
The TravelAge West WAVE Awards recognizes the most outstanding tour operators, travel agents, hotels, airlines, cruises and destinations. This is the third consecutive year the awards have been presented and there were a total of 47 award categories. The inaugural TravelAge West travel award competition in 2006 featured 30 award categories.
This year, four Asian destinations made the Editor’s Pick for ‘Destination with Highest Client Satisfaction — Asia’: China, Hong Kong, Japan and Thailand.
