PATA ANNOUNCES 2010 GRAND AND GOLD AWARD WINNERS
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) announced on 28 July the winners of the 2010 PATA Gold Awards, sponsored by the Macau Government Tourist Office. This year the awards recognise the achievements of 24 separate organisations and individuals.

In 2010, 24 PATA Grand and Gold Awards will be presented, with multiple awards going to Hong Kong Tourism Board, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Tourism Authority of Thailand. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 17th during PATA Travel Mart 2010 at the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel in Macau SAR.

THE PATA GRAND AWARDS 2010
PATA Grand Awards are presented to outstanding entries in the four principal categories: Marketing, Education and Training, Environment, and Heritage. This year, the Grand Awards go to Tourism New Zealand in the marketing category; Banyan Tree Spa Academy for education and training; AlamKulKul Boutique Resort, Bali for environment, and Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in the heritage category.

THAILAND WINS PATA GOLD AWARDS IN 3 CATEGORIES —
Marketing Media - Travel Advertisement Broadcast Media, Culture, Marketing - Hospitality,

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) won the prestigious PATA Gold Award for its TV commercial, "Thailand Talks to the World" in the Marketing Media - Travel Advertisement Broadcast Media category and also for Baan Mae Kampong, a picturesque Northern Thai village located approximately 50 kilometres from Chiang Mai city.

Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas in Thailand won the PATA Gold Award in the Marketing Campaign-Hospitality category in recognition of its highly successful, fully integrated opening campaign for the resort.
