A number of major festivals, events and travel-related meetings to be held throughout 2010 will ensure a lively and vibrant calendar of activities. Here are some that have been confirmed:

Arts of the Kingdom V: This exhibition featuring the works of the Support Foundation, patronised by Her Majesty the Queen, has been ongoing since 18 December, 2007, at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, Dusit Palace in celebration of His Majesty the King’s 60th Anniversary of Accession to the Throne which was commemorated in 2006 and his 80th Birthday Anniversary in 2007. Golden Jubilee 50th Year Fam Trip, March 2010: We will invite the media from all over the world to participate in a fam trip to visit the country’s five geographical regions and 50 main tourism products. 31st Bangkok International Motor Show, 26 March – 6 April 2010, at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre. This annual event features the latest line up of motorcars and motorcycles, accompanied by several activities ranging from rallies to off-road competitions, tuning car contests to car audio shows, and a wide variety of cars on show from local clubs. |

Songkran Festival, 13-15 April, 2010: A fun-filled national festival that commemorates the role of water in Thai social, cultural, economic, and spiritual life. Marked during the peak of the summer heat wave, it includes the annual bathing of Buddha images carried out at temples and homes across the country. Children sprinkle water on the heads of elders to pay respect. |

First organised in 2001, it offers a particularly valuable opportunity to network with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which cannot afford to exhibit at global travel trade shows.

Hua Hin Jazz Festival, 12 - 14 June, 2010: The 8th Hua Hin Jazz Festival will be held at two sites at Hua Hin, 200 km south of Bangkok. Entrance to all performances is free. Hua Hin has been associated with the country’s jazz community since the 1950s and the jazz festival is organised annually to honour the musical talents of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. |

Hua Hin Regatta 2009, 30 July - 3 August, 2010: Yachting and sailboat enthusiasts from all over the world gather in the idyllic seaside resort of Hua Hin, only three hours drive from Bangkok, for three days of competition. The coveted trophies are the Royal Vega Rudder trophy of His Majesty the King, Super Mod National Championship trophy from HM the King, OK Dinghy National Championship trophy from HM the Queen, and Princess Cup for Optimist Championship of the late HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana. Hua Hin is home to one of the summer palaces of His Majesty the King, a great patron of the sport. Hence, this annual regatta is held in his honour. |
