If you’re looking to keep away from the heat and water splashing of Songkran this New Year, while still appreciating the culture and beauty of Bangkok, you should stop by River City, which is hosting a charming art exhibition called “Once in Bangkok”.
The show offers a series of paintings by renowned Thai artist Piyapat Yooyen, who has been inspired by memories of his childhood and the old ways that Thai people used to live in all areas of Bangkok, to create some wonderfully colourful and evocative paintings. Some of his work shows how the past blends with the present in the most surprising ways.
On 16 April at the gallery, there will also be a special T-Shirt painting workshop by Mr. Jira Jirapravati Na Ayudhya which takes place from 10.00 -16.00 Hrs. There is space for 30 people and the fee is 300 Baht. It’s a creative way to spend Songkran that will inspire and delight.
