Siam City Hotels & Resorts’ President, Kamala Sukosol, Sets the Dates for Her Annual Charity Concert, “Highlights”
Kamala Sukosol made a decision and commitment many years ago, to dedicate her flair as
an entertainer to help Thailand’s underprivileged.
Her first charity concert took place in 1982 at The Oriental Hotel, Bangkok, with donations
directed to the Cardiac Children’s Foundation of Thailand.
Since 1991, Kamala’s own Siam City Hotel, Bangkok, has set the stage for her annual
charity concerts. Today, reviewing her programme for the twentieth concert, titled
“Highlights”, on November 27-29, 2008, Kamala shows no signs of slowing down.
One of Bangkok’s most respected hoteliers and businesswomen, Kamala is a talented singer
well-regarded as Thailand’s ‘Queen of Jazz’. She has spent 25 years entertaining guests
with her unique repertoire of Big Band jazz while donating all performance earnings to
charity.
Generating over 28 million baht, Kamala’s donations have contributed to a variety of
charities such as, the Oncological (Cancer) Society, The Chai Pattana Foundation, the
Rajaprachanukroh Foundation for Tsunami Victims, Unicef and numerous Thai Red Cross
projects that include, the organ donation awareness, children’s welfare, breast cancer
prevention, and craniofacial treatments.
This year’s concert, “Highlights”, featuring the Prachin Songpow Big Band Jazz Orchestra,
will aid The Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer. Donations for the event will support the
much-needed diagnostic equipment and assist in the purchase of advanced technology,
which has the ability to measure the amount of blood flow through cancerous tumors.
Accurate assessment allows for less invasive treatment thereby improving the patients’
quality of life and overall wellbeing.
Kamala is proud of her many accomplishments and the rare opportunity to incorporate her
many talents into life and her family-owned and operated hotels. Together with her grown
children, she has created three successful unique hotels, The Siam City Hotel, Bangkok,
Siam Bayview Hotel, Pattaya and Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa, Pattaya, and is planning to
build a new luxury boutique hotel, The Siam, on Bangkok’s famed Chao Phraya River.
Everyone has the opportunity to become an ambassador for The Queen Sirikit Centre for
Breast Cancer and help raise money for a much-needed cause that touches all our lives.
Enjoy an evening of super entertainment while saving a life. Audiences can reserve and
