BANGKOK CHEFS CHARITY GALA DINNER 2009
27 July 2009
At the Royal Ballroom, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok Hotel

MEET THE CHEFS
Chef What motivated you to become involved in the Bangkok Chefs Charity Gala Dinner?

Chef Stefano Artosin
Amanpuri Resort
The Gala Dinner is a fantastic opportunity to work with the most talented chefs whilst applying our skills in order to help such an important cause. I’m grateful to be one of the chosen ones to help underprivileged children with this Charity Event and hope there will be many more to follow.

Chef Degan Septoadji Suprijadi
Banyan Tree Bangkok

As chefs, there have been countless occasions where we displayed our professionalism and creative outputs for many important events. Food being an object that connects all human beings, it is our utmost pride as food professionals to contribute our skill and passion to such a good and important cause to make a difference in someone’s life.

Chef Michel Brelière
Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at Central World

This is an amazing feeling to be united for a good cause and this, for the first time all the Chefs of the prestigious hotels in Bangkok, some even coming from Phuket!
It’s a fantastic experience!

Chef Dietmar Spitzer
Conrad Hotel Bangkok

It will be a fantastic event. We will be able to help people in need and never so many chefs of the top hotels in Thailand have worked together to create a not just fantastic meal but an experience.

Chef Erwin Eberharter
Dusit Thani Bangkok

Thailand has been good to me and I want to give back something to society. In these troubled economic times we need charity more than ever, and the entire proceeds will go to a good cause. It’s the first time a project like this has been held in Thailand, and I’m delighted to be taking part in what I think is a unique and brilliant idea.

Chef Nicolas Schneller
Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok

A man cannot live only for himself, and the fortunate should always share.

So when Gourmet One came with the idea of combining a bunch of friends fortunate to work in some of the famous hotels in Thailand for the purpose of giving to the less fortunate, I found this concept close to what is called generosity; and generosity we shall always give, and thats what all the Chefs agreed on.

Besides it is a very fun exercise, with the exception maybe of the Organizers, to have all the Chefs together.

Chef Lucas Glanville
Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

An excellent opportunity to give something back to Thailand, a privilege to be able to work in the Kingdom and a great initiative for many people to benefit from a group of professionals united in supporting Princess Srininthorns foundation.

Chef Philippe Derrien
Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Bangkok

Joining the charity activity is a very fruitful matter that you can make a better life for someone. I realize that Thailand still has poor people that really need support. This is a great opportunity for me to be able to give some time for a good cause and to share this experience with other colleagues. I particularly enjoy getting to know all chefs better while preparing for this event. I think we are all having a good time, you feel the sense of camaraderie among the entire team which I truly appreciate.

Chef Dieter Ruckenbauer
JW Marriott Bangkok

Chef Dieter is following a long Charity tradition in many different countries if it was Shanghai or Hong Kong and there is nothing more fulfilling than working together with fellow Chefs cooking great food and on top of it knowing that it is for a great cause.

Chef Philippe Gaudal
Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort

As a chef in Thailand for 9 years now, Thailand become my second home, and I think that is very important for me to share this experience with all my friends chef from Bangkok, I just have to be part of it and the cherry on the cake is that is for charity.

Chef Norbert Kostner
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

First of all, I feel very privileged and honoured to be part of the team cooking for H.R.H. Princess Sirinthorn and for all the attending guests.

Secondly, as all revenue generated will be donated to Sai Jai Thai Foundation and to underprivileged schools in the North I am delighted to be part of the cooking team; so that we all can give back something to society.

Thirdly, it is the first time that so many chefs of so many hotels from Bangkok and from Thailand join hands and show great friendship and solidarity to come up with a fabulous dinner and event and I do not want to miss this unique opportunity and I very much want also to be part of the team.

Chef Philip Sedgwick
The Peninsula Bangkok

Gourmet One proposed the idea along with Chef Norbert and I thought bringing a touch of magic to the hearts of many would be nothing but wonderful.

Chef Martin Faist
Plaza Athenee Bangkok,
A Royal Meridien Hotel

I am very proud and excited to be a part of this first ever held chef charity event. It’s simply fantastic that we are able to gather 16th Executive chefs from Bangkok. Exciting with promotional activities all the proceeds from this event going to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Sai Jai Thai foundation. This first ever held culinary challenge amongst the 16 top Executive chefs from Bangkok truly makes this occasion an epicurean dining delight to remember.

Chef Anthony Dawson

To help the Sai Jai Thai Foundation.

Chef Ramneek Lamba
