HAT YAI INTERNATIONAL LANTERN FESTIVAL – THE COLOUR OF THE SOUTH
At Hat Yai Municipal Park
1 November 2009 – 28 February 2010

 
 

During the Hat Yai International Lantern Festival which runs from 1 November 2009 to 28 February 2010, the scenic Hat Yai Municipal Park will be transformed into a showcase of light presented under the theme, “The Colour of the South”.

Festival Highlights
The highlights include:
Amazing Nine Wonders Happiness Lantern
Ice lanterns inspired by the lanterns of Harbin in Heilongjiang Province in China
“The Colour of the South” — a colourful display of lanterns from the 14 provinces of Southern Thailand
Traditional Thai lanterns of the four regions of Thailand
“Blessing for Life, Blessed Community” — a lantern exhibition that showcases the art of lantern-making art from all regions of Thailand and from around the world with themed lantern displays reflecting creative thinking and infinite imagination, for example — “Children’s World”, “Animal World”, “Auspicious Mythical Creatures from World Folklore & Legend”
Floating lantern displays
Contemporary lantern contest
A lively entertainment programme featuring various artists
Sales of food and drinks
