During the Hat Yai International Lantern Festival which runs from 1 November 2009 to 28 February 2010, the scenic Hat Yai Municipal Park will be transformed into a showcase of light presented under the theme, “The Colour of the South”.

Amazing Nine Wonders Happiness Lantern
Ice lanterns inspired by the lanterns of Harbin in Heilongjiang Province in China
“The Colour of the South” — a colourful display of lanterns from the 14 provinces of Southern Thailand
Traditional Thai lanterns of the four regions of Thailand
“Blessing for Life, Blessed Community” — a lantern exhibition that showcases the art of lantern-making art from all regions of Thailand and from around the world with themed lantern displays reflecting creative thinking and infinite imagination, for example — “Children’s World”, “Animal World”, “Auspicious Mythical Creatures from World Folklore & Legend”
