La Fête de la Musique  is a festival that celebrates all kinds of music by all kinds of musicians (children, adults, amateurs and professionals). Created in France on 21 June 1982 to celebrate the first day of summer,  La Fête de la Musique  has been celebrated since then every year in more than 100 countries. Evidence indeed that music knows no boundaries.

• From 14.00 hrs (2.00 pm), different kinds of moods, various groups of music by amateurs or young professionals will make Siam Square swing.
  
  
• From 18.00 hrs (6 pm), leading Thai music groups will share the main podium with the French group JAVA till late at night, for an evening that will surely rock.

ModernDog Founded more than 10 years ago by 3 rock musicians: Thanachai  Pod  Ujjin (vocals, guitar), May-T Noijinda (guitar) and Pawin Sunwannacheep (drums), ModernDog constantly surprises its audience, alternating between huge radio hits and darker electronic experiments. ModernDog spearheaded Bangkok’s indie rock movement in the mid 90’s and till now, they keep reaching an even wider audience thanks to their surprising as well as captivating concerts. Pry and May-T Project was created following the desire of Pry Pathomporn and May-T Noijinda (ModernDog) to work together. Their encounter, enriched by other artists from Simplex and Goose for instance, delivers a new kind of music that has already seduced fans thanks to their songs First Time and Sometime.

Java ( France): Rap musette – Music to party! The music band Java was formed in 1998 when two Parisians, Fixi and R.wan met. Fixi decided to take to the accordion. Like American rappers, he picks tunes and songs from old musette vinyl discs. R.wan did the same with language using his surroundings- Paris. Together they composed songs mixing hip-hop, accordion, musette, instruments from the past with modern sounds. Along the lines of Ogres de Barback, la rue kétanou, or Debout sur le zinc, Java is one of the most exciting groups of contemporary French songs! Cie Dynamogène:  M. Culbuto 
In between the evening concerts, you will perhaps be lucky enough to run into  M. Culbuto. Half man, half toy, Mr Culbuto, 320 kgs of sheer poetry, will meander through the streets, pulled along on a wagon by a whimsical handler. He is a living toy, desperately waiting for people to play with him. He is put on the ground every once in a while for a few minutes and he starts playing. Mr Culbuto was created by the Dynamogène Company and has visited more than 23 countries but this will be his first visit to Bangkok! (videos on www.lafete-bangkok.com).
