Appris par corps
Appris par corps is about two men who confront each other and put their relation to the test. The two of them portray the whole range of human relations, from closeness to blind trust, to dependence to violence. They support teach other, tolerate each other, hold each other at arm’s length, bond and reject each other incessantly mirrored in the other’s eye till they lose their breath. They attempt to escape the invisible bond which joins them but always come back to each other, almost as if they were intertwined and cannot escape. There is so little to say and so much to see. Behind these gravity defying bodies, there is a poetic vision and reflection on human relationships.

The company, Un loup pour l’homme was born in 2005, when two acrobats, Alexandre Frayand, a porteur (an acrobat on the ground) and Frédéric Arsenault a voltigeur(an aerial acrobat) met. Both were into sports during their youth and attended Circus schools in their country (in Quebec and France) and both trained in acrobatics: on both shores of the Atlantic, their paths were similar. Their circus company reflects their broader vision of acrobatics. In 2006, they presented the outline of Appris par corps which won them the scholarship for promising Young Circus artists, thanks to which they were able to engage in their first performance.
