This cultural festival being staged in the heart of the island’s ‘old town’ provides a colourful introduction to Phuket’s fascinating cultural legacy and rich historical past.
Through the colourful processions and dramatic performances being staged every Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 17.00 - 23.00, journey back in time to Phuket’s golden days. Spectacular cultural presentations, featuring a vast range of dramatic arts, theatrical and stage performances, folk traditions and way of life, musical and folk performances native to the region, capture the sights and sounds that characterised Phuket’s early settlements, particularly the Sino-Portuguese and the Nonya or Ba-ba communities.
Local performing artists will be joined by their counterparts from nations that were once part of the great ancient empires of the old world with whom the island maintained trade and cultural ties such as Srivijaya and India, Holland, Portugal and China.
