The Koh Samui Music Festival or KSMF 2005 returns to Chaweng Beach on the tropical paradise of Koh Samui in September 2005.
Promoted as one of Asia’s biggest music event, the 2005 festival will be offering 10 days of live blues, jazz, reggae, ska, rock, pop, Thai indie, mor lam and luk thung Thai folk music by the lake by Chaweng Beach.
The inaugural ‘Blues and World Music Festival’ held days after last year’s tragic Boxing Day tsunami featured a series of intimate, low key evenings that reflected the power of music to heal.
This year’s event is more up-tempo and features an even broader selection of top international and local acts, a wide and varied mix of musicians and musical genres.
The line-up of high profile international headline acts features such famous names as UB40, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Wailers, Jools Holland and Dan Ackroyd’s Blues Brothers; the world’s finest blues performers promoted by The John Lee Hooker Tribute; tropical big bands; world music; as well as some of Thailand’s leading performers.
The variety offered by world-class music, outdoor theatre, puppet shows and shadow theatre from around the world, beach theatre and dramatic balloon performances is sure to keep all attending with an endless choice of fun-filled days and nights by the beach.
