TAT Organizing Training Seminars to Help Destinations Boost Marketing Skills

Bangkok, April 29, 2011 — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is to organise a series of training seminars designed to boost the marketing skills of industry practitioners across the public and private sectors as well as grassroots community members nationwide.

Mrs Pensuda Prai-aram, TAT Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Tourism Business said,”The 15 seminars are being organised in both primary and secondary destinations nationwide and are designed to enhance their competitive advantage. At least 1,200 people are expected to participate.”

The four topics to be covered are: 1) Training of Modern Marketing Tourism for Main Tourist Cities in Chonburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Krabi and Chiang Rai, 2) Training of Tourism Marketing for Minor Tourist Cities in Rayong, Samut Songkhram, Chumphon, Tak and Loei; 3) Training of Online Tourism Marketing in Phitsanulok, Bangkok, Koh Samui, Surat Thani and Udon Thani, and the Seminar on Quality Tourists Marketing Promotion for Overseas Markets (Korea and USA) in Bangkok.

With the sole exception of the last seminar, the remaining three will be free of charge.

Registration is now open. Applicants will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis, but the TAT reserves the right to make the final selection.

“The TAT believes that these seminars will help everyone involved in tourism promotion to better understand the significant changes taking place in the way tourism is being marketed globally, to keep up with the latest trends and innovations, and improve the quality and professionalism of their own marketing plans and strategies,” Mrs Pensuda added.

1st Course: 19-20 May 2011, Pattaya City, Chonburi
2nd Course: 26-27 May 2011, Prachuap Khiri Khan
3rd Course: 16-17 June 2011, Krabi
4th Course: 23-24 June 2011, Chiang Rai

Training of Tourism Marketing for Minor Tourist Cities, 100 people per course, (free)
1st Course: 28-29 April 2011, Rayong
2nd Course: 30 June – 1 July 2011, Samut Songkhram
3rd Course: 7-8 July 2011, Chumphon
4th Course: 18-19 August 2011, Tak
5th Course: 25-26 August 2011, Loei

Training of Online Tourism Marketing, 70 people per course, (free)
1st Course: 12-13 July 2011, Phitsanulok
2nd Course: 26-27 July 2011, Samui Island, Surat Thani
3rd Course: 19-20 October 2011, Bangkok
4th Course: 26-27 October 2011, Udon Thani

Seminar on Quality Tourists Marketing Promotion for Overseas Markets, 100 people per course, (800 Baht per person)
1st Course: Korean Market, 23-24 May 2011, Bangkok
2nd Course: American Market, 6-7 June 2011, Bangkok
