Bangkok Marathon

Venue: Sanam Chai Road (by the Grand Palace), Bangkok


The Bangkok Marathon offers participants more than just a normal marathon experience. The course takes the runners past many fascinating tourist attractions of Bangkok, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaeo or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the National Museum, and the Chao Phraya River. The race is divided into 4 categories with divisions for different age groups. There is the marathon (42.185 kms), half-marathon (21.10 kms), mini-marathon (10.55 kms), and micro-marathon (5kms).  

 

Highlight: The courses are designed to be scenic so that participants and onlookers get views of some of the famous landmarks of Bangkok. Not only do you see historical attractions but you get to explore the culture of this country through the warm welcomes and cheerful smiles of the fellow participants and spectators.

 

Scenic and loop course travel past many historical landmarks through cultural and ethnic communities. All divisions start and finish line are at Sanam Chai Road locating the front of The Royal Grand Palace. Race Course is officially sanctioned by The Association of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) and the Amateur Athletic Association of Thailand (IAAF Rules).
