AYUTTHAYA (Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya)
While the water level remains high, every effort has been made to protect the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site of Ayutthaya, historical landmarks and key tourism sites around Ayutthaya. Provincial authorities and members of the community are vigilant and work together round-the-clock to protect the cultural treasures of the ancient city.
To get right to the ancient island city of Ayutthaya, take Asian Highway no. 2. Most sightseeing and tourism-related activities, such as elephant rides, bicycling, tricycle rides, continue uninterrupted.
Important landmarks and attractions beyond the island city of Ayutthaya, such as the temples of Wat Chaiwattanaram, Wat Pananchoeng and Wat Tha Kanong, remain open to visitors.
