Thailand Gems and Jewelry Fair 2017

Thailand is well-known as being a world leading base for gems and jewellery production as well as shopping. Also in recent years, Thailand is increasingly becoming more popular as a preferred wedding and honeymoon destination among couples from around the world. So this Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017 will certainly help to further enhance Thailand’s popularity as a global hub for gems and jewellery manufacturing and trading, as well as a place to purchase precious gems and jewellery to mark any wedding celebrations and anniversaries.

Positioned as the first mid-year international jewellery show, the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017 is expected to attract more than 600 exhibitors from over 30 countries, including Thailand. They will meet with more than 30,000 trading partners from 125 countries who come to search for a range of quality coloured stones, finished gems and jewellery products. Among the buyers will be trading partners from China (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangdong, Chengdu, and Tianjin), Europe and the US.

The Fair will comprise various exhibiting zones, including gold, silver and other jewellery items; precious and semi-precious gemstones; loose stones; such as, diamonds and pearls; equipment, tool and accessories, and publications and services for the industry.

In addition, there will be a special “4 Districts of Gems and Jewellery” zone to showcase unique areas in Bangkok that are famous for offering shopping and trading opportunities for different types of gemstones and jewellery items. Mahesak Road is known as the Gemstones Street while Yaowarat Road is called the Golden Street. For diamonds and jewellery, the best places to find these items are along the streets of Silom and Surawongse as well as in the Ban Mo area. A plethora of choices for silver items can be found along the streets of Chareon Krung and Khao San, as well as in the Pratunam area.

There is also an “Innovation Pavilion” which will showcase new industry trends and innovations, and highlight Thailand as a world-class hub for gems and jewellery production and shopping destination. In addition, there will be a ‘cash & carry’ zone to facilitate both exhibitors and buyers in doing businesses. Other activities include a range of seminars and workshops.

The staging of the Thailand Gems & Jewelry Fair 2017 is in line with the Royal Thai Government’s policy to promote Thailand as the world’s hub for gems and jewellery. Under the policy, several incentives have been introduced, including the exemption of import tax on all jewellery items and value-added-tax (VAT) waiver on rough stones.
