THAILAND NAMED ‘THE WORLD’S BEST CHARTER DESTINATION’ 2005:
PHUKET ACCLAIMED BY SCANDINAVIAN TRAVELLERS

Thailand has been selected ‘Best Charter Destination’ by Sweden’s Allt om Resor travel magazine.

Thailand won the ‘The World’s Best Charter Destination’ accolade for summer 2005 from Sweden’s Allt om Resor travel magazine. The results were officially announced 1 September with Majorca second and Egypt third. Other destinations favoured by the magazine’s readers included New York, Paris, Croatia, Playa del Carmen, Ireland, Rome and Bali. Votes came from the magazine’s more than 200,000 readers.

Phuket has also won ‘Favoured Travel Destination’ recognition from Spies, a Danish tour operator and member of the My Travel Group.

Phuket was chosen by more than 190,000 visitors as the top travel destination from a choice of over 30. Tour operator Spies conducted the poll during the summer season and announced the results in late August.

Kent Ruasner, manager of Spies in Thailand, said that Phuket received the highest score of 4.8 out of a possible five points from questionnaire respondents. Approximately 93 per cent of respondents said they would like to revisit Phuket.
