In this edition, the iTravel Exclusives reported on the activities at the Thailand Travel Mart 2016 (TTM 2016), and documented the effort by Thai tourism authorities in promoting Thailand as the ultimate destination for sports tourism in Asia.
Organised annually by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the TTM is Thailand’s largest annual business to business tourism and travel trade event, bringing together close to 900 buyers, sellers, media and tourism officials from around Thailand, the region and the world, including new and emerging markets such as, eastern Europe, the Middle East, South America and South Africa.
The event ran from 8 to 10 June, at the Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC) and helped to cement Chiang Mai’s reputation as an important gateway to North Thailand and its Mekong Region neighbours Laos and Myanmar.
