Tourico Holidays prepares Thai hoteliers for higher demand

Orlando, Florida, 17 October, 2014 – Tourico Holidays, a global leader in wholesale travel brokerage, continued its 20-year anniversary celebration, hosting a product workshop for travel providers in Bangkok, Thailand on 19 September.

The conference celebrated collective industry growth in the region and provided insight on the best practices for increasing sales in the upcoming years.

Over 200 local travel suppliers, including new hotel clients, existing hotel partners, sales groups, and e-commerce distributors – representing approximately 150 hotels – attended the all-day event to hear Tourico executives introduce new products and growth strategies.

Mr. Neil Emerson, Senior Vice President of Product Development for Tourico Holidays said, “This hotelier workshop was a reminder to our existing Bangkok hotel suppliers that we are here to help them increase sales and broaden their network. It’s also an opportunity for us to reach new suppliers in the region and introduce them to our technology – and explain how we can increase their demand by connecting them with travelers from around the world.”

According to Tourico’s research and database, which gets over 90 million searches a day, the Bangkok travel market is steadily growing for Tourico’s clients.  Among Tourico’s network, the city’s year-over-year room nights increased by 26 per cent from 2013 to 2014 – in a year that has seen overall declines for the destination.

Mr. Emerson said, “The hospitality industry in Thailand is on an upward trajectory with Tourico there to assist its partners every step of the way.  This growth is driven by our best-in-class IT systems and global network of travel distribution partners that are able to search and book real-time prices on travel products in Bangkok.”

Tourico will be further enhancing its presence and strategy in Thailand and throughout Asia starting in 2015.  Major changes will be announced to ignite this new focus on the region.
