THE FOUR SEASONS TENTED CAMP, GOLDEN TRIANGLE, THAILAND
Part Wildlife Reserve, Part Luxury Resort

For centuries, the legendary mountainous region of Northern Thailand along the banks of the Mekong River where the borders of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar converge has been steeped in mythical tales of exploits.

The Golden Triangle is alive again with adventure, wildlife and the added surprise of splendid luxury. Part wildlife reserve and part luxury resort, the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers Southeast Asia’s most exciting tented wildlife experience.

An Exotic Haven of Luxury and Adventure
The Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers unparalleled comfort to adventure travel in the jungle-bound valleys of the once impenetrable hills of the Golden Triangle, overlooking the rural splendour of Laos and Myanmar (Burma), across the Mekong River.

Highlights
The camp experience features a variety of highlights and interesting activities. These include:

  • River trips
The Camp’s fleet of traditional river boat make excursions along the Mekong River, exploring temples and rarely visited jungle and hilltribe villages that dot the borders of Laos and Myanmar. Long tail boat excursions are also offered.
  • Explore the Camp
  • Luxurious safaris nature walks trekking through many of the natural wonders of Thailand
  • Wildlife watching or birdwatching with a local guide
  • Picnic on the river boat or riverside picnics
  • Go fishing with a local guide
  • Afternoon tea
  • Relax by the jungle pool
  • Enjoy a relaxing massage at the spa
  • Sundowners At Burma Bar

Kingfishers dart and swoop among verdant stands of tall, bristly bamboo.

Upon arrival, guests are offered a welcome drink and then escorted through a jungle path to a lounge in an airy thatched reception area known as the East Post.

The Golden Triangle is an all-year round destination with a tropical climate that is cooler and less humid than the central and southern regions of Thailand. There are three seasons.

  • Green wet season: May - October
  • Cool, dry season: November - February
In the cool season, the temperature can fall to 13 degrees Celsius at night

There are a total of 15 luxurious air-conditioned tents featuring spacious covered veranda, individually-themed regional art and hardwood floors throughout. Each offers a vast and luxurious living space dominated by an inviting king-size bed from which guests can gaze out over the sundeck and enjoy the breathtaking river landscape. The environment mixes dark woods, leather furnishings and the softest of bed linen under swathes of weatherproof awning. Tent flaps can be raised for the views and to let in breeze. Fixed screens keep insects out. Depending on the season, there is a choice of a good old-fashioned ceiling fan, air-conditioning, and a heater for the occasionally cooler evenings.

Burma Bar
An airy thatched lounge that comes complete with overstuffed chairs, a library and fireplace. (The Library, once finished, will be well-stocked with natural history books.)

Nong Yao Restaurant by the river bank
Serves innovative Thai, Laotian, Burmese and Western cuisine

Wine Cellar
For wine-tasting and intimate dinner gatherings

Spa Salas
There will be two spa salas discretely located in the lush San Valley. Spa services feature a range of Thai massage and other indigenous treatments.
