BANGKOK AIRWAYS RECEIVES SKYTRAX AIRLINE AWARD
FOR A SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Bangkok Airways recently received the Skytrax 2005 World Airline Award for the highest standards of airline customer service quality in the ‘Asia - Regional Best Airlines’ category.

Bangkok Airways strategic positioning as ‘Asia’s Boutique Airline’ firmly committed to the delivery of exceptional products and outstanding services across all customer touch points is reflected in actual implementation. The reality of the customer experience in front-line service, in-flight meals, new aircraft, comfortable lounges, Bangkok Airways-owned and operated boutique airports, and beautiful destinations accounts for far-and-wide recognition of the premium service extended by the airline to all of its passengers.

As the world's leading research organisation for airline and airport Surveys, Skytrax provides the world’s largest airline passenger surveys and surveys for the world air transport industry. Its renowned, global Airline Passenger Survey was introduced by Skytrax in 1999. The reality of the "delivered" product and service actually being supplied to the customers is evaluated with considerable emphasis being placed upon the final standards of "service delivery" - be it airport staff or cabin service onboard flights.

According to SkyTrax, the annual ‘Airline of the Year’ survey is billed as “the world's largest passenger survey” conducted. In 2004, the survey achieved a staggering response level of more than 10 million entries - from over 75 different nationalities across the globe.

Client-commissioned surveys are a core activity of passenger surveys conducted; Skytrax currently hosts more than 100 different Passenger Surveys. The organization also holds “Passenger Forums” for more than 375 airlines. The Skytrax Passenger Forums offer the most extensive choice of airline opinion pages currently available.

The Skytrax panel comprises members from more than 50 countries, and over 74 nationalities.

SKYTRAX WORLD AIRLINE STAR RANKING
Skytrax operates the Star Rating system for the world airline industry. Introduced in 2000, each airline is ranked on the basis of front-line Product and Service quality - with the Star Ranking status being based on "international" product and service standards where applicable. In the case of "domestic-only airlines", the Star Ranking reflects their domestic product and service quality.

Of prime importance to all Star Ranking data, Skytrax evaluate the reality of the "delivered" product and service actually being supplied to the customers. This means for example, that a low cost airline with a much reduced product offering, can still be eligible for a high star ranking - if it fulfils its conceived quality target. Considerable emphasis is placed upon the final standards of "service delivery" - be it airport staff or cabin service onboard flights.

The Skytrax World Airline Star Ranking™ Programme functions as the ultimate guide to airline product and service standards. As customers might choose a hotel by its star ranking, they can now view Airline standards according to their rating status.
