Beyond Resort Khaolak won Travelife Gold certification

Phang-nga, Thailand, 30 October, 2015 – Beyond Resort Khaolak has been certified with the Travelife Gold certification, an international award scheme in recognition of hotels and accommodations which has achieved social and environmental sustainability criteria standard.

Travelife is a wholly owned subsidiary of Association of British Travel Agent (ABTA), the UK trade associations. Since 2007, it developed a web-based certification system which allows accommodation providers to monitor and self-assess their sustainability performance. The award is now recognised within the travel and tourism industry as one of the most comprehensive and credible tools to assess sustainability performance.

All Travelife certified hotels and accommodations must undertake an independent on-site audit to prove they meet the strict criteria before they receive a Travelife certification.

The resort’s General Manager, Mr. Robert Frei said he believed that sustainability was the key factor for the present and the future of any business.

“At Beyond Resort Khaolak, managers have embraced sustainability in order to create growth and improvements on an ongoing basis. Travelife was an eye-opener for all of us due to its strict but logical requirements. This includes measuring results, staff information and protecting of every aspect of the operation, including its impact on nature and neighbourhood alike.”

He said while the resort strives to offer guests maximum peace and freedom of movement, the same concept also applies for all staff to ensure that they can enjoy a hassle free and secure environment.

Three main criteria that Beyond Resort Khaolak has made it to such achievement include reducing impact on the environment, support local businesses and cultural heritages as well as staff involvement on environmental protection.

Furthermore, the resort also engages guests in environmental activities, promoting the environmental achievements and putting them in touch with the local community.
