TAT Newsroom Blogger Campaign gets off to a strong start

Bangkok, 23 June, 2016 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Newsroom Blogger Campaign has now opened and bloggers and photographers can enter and submit their tales and pictures of Thailand and get the chance to win an exclusive trip to the kingdom.

To enter the TAT Newsroom Blogger Campaign, writers and photographers need to visit and create a profile. They can then upload up to five stories or pictures that celebrate Thailand, its people and its attractions. Winners are decided by the number of online votes. The campaign will run until 31 July, 2016.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of TAT said, “We are glad that this blogger campaign is already attracting so much interest from creative writers and photographers from around the world. We expect the standard of future entries to be high – Thailand has so many stories just waiting to be told. We want readers to be engaged, amused, fascinated and entranced by the bloggers’ tales and images so that they feel encouraged to visiting Thailand for themselves.”

The TAT Newsroom Team would like to remind bloggers and photographers that their entries must be relevant to the theme of the competition. Blogs need to tell stories about wonderful and personal experiences enjoyed in Thailand while pictures should reflect some of the kingdom’s amazing colour, unique personalities and attractions, while showing Thailand in a positive light. Pictures and blogs must be the competitors’ own work and must never have previously been publically displayed. Failure to comply with the rules of the contest will result in entries being rejected.

Entrants must have an established online profile and a regularly-updated social media presence with a regular following. Acceptable platforms include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, etc. or a personal blog that covers travel, food or culture topics. Entrants also need to be followers of the TAT Newsroom via social media platforms.

The top three bloggers and three photographers with the highest numbers of votes will win an all-expenses-paid trip to Thailand, which will take place from 16-20 September, 2016. The next three most voted, each, for story blogs and photos will receive a special prize.

Voting on the website will be open from 16 June to 10 August, 2016, and the top three most active voters will get the chance to receive prizes with their names entered in to a lucky draw. By signing in via their personal Facebook or Google plus accounts, voters are allowed to cast one vote per hour for up to 10 votes a day.
