Pacific Eden cruise ship brought nearly 2000 visitors to Phuket

Pacific Eden cruise ship made a call to Phuket yesterday (17 August, 2016)

Bangkok, 18 August, 2016 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce that travellers’ confidence in Phuket as one of the country’s popular tourist destination remains strong despite recent incidents.

The popular southern Thai beach resort yesterday (17 August, 2016) welcomed the arrival of the Pacific Eden cruise ship, bringing in a total of 1,343 passengers and 620 crew members, totalling 1,963, visitors, to enjoy a range of Phuket’s wonderful natural and cultural attractions. Phuket is one of the major destinations of Pacific Eden’s one-month inaugural sailing in Asia this month.

According to E.A.S. Maritime Agencies (Thailand), the cruise ship’s passengers are from Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor said, “This is great news as it reiterates the confidence in Phuket as a destination among the international tourism community and the travellers themselves. At the same time, I would like to stress that the safety of tourists and visitors is always our priority. Every measure has been taken to ensure security at all destinations in Thailand.”
