Bangkok, 25 August, 2016 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) recently joined forces with the leading travel management agency GTA and Korean TV Channel tvN to show off some of Thailand’s amazing range of luxury goods, hospitality and Thainess to 14 media representatives and travel agents from 11 countries across the Asia-Pacific region.
The familiarisation and filming trip to Thailand is part of GTA’s Strategic Partnership Programme (SPP) aimed at positioning Thailand as an upscale tourist destination for luxury travellers.
The trip, taking place this week (24 to 27 August) will also form part of tvN’s latest English-language travel series called “My Unexpected Sweet Trip (M.U.S.T.)”, hosted by South Korean model and fashionista, Irene Kim. She will be looking at some of Bangkok’s luxury offerings and tourism products and incorporating them into the show for the pay TV channel, which is known for lifestyle programming and dramas. Joining Irene Kim in the filming is South Korean actor Mr. Kim Jae Young.
Mrs. Srisuda Wanapinyosak TAT Deputy for International Marketing Asia and South Pacific said, “This collaborative fam trip is perfect for showing our Asia-Pacific neighbours that Thailand can offer unparalleled luxury for everyone who appreciates the finer things in life as well as unique local experiences that can be found nowhere else. We are grateful to GTA and tvN for helping us to reach dynamic new markets and showcase the best of the kingdom to their agents and viewers.”
During the trip, the travel agents and members of the media get to enjoy typically Thai experiences; such as, taking a tuk-tuk tour, having a vigorous Thai massage, and taking a canal trip. They will also visit the riverside and Grand Palace. All participants will get the chance to see an evening of Muay Thai boxing and enjoy a range of tasty Thai cuisine.
GTA will also be making a film of the visit to Thailand to showcase some of the hidden treasures that Bangkok can offer. They will also highlight SPP partners; such as, the Amara Bangkok Hotel. These short films will be used in GTA’s educational travel trade workshops.
