Bangkok, 4 November, 2016 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Hong Kong Office joined hands with the Thai Trade Commission and Thai Airways International to welcome teachers and students from Lingnan Hang Yee Secondary School to Ang Thong, Suphan Buri and Samut Sakhon, from 3 to 8 November, 2016.
A tailored school trip aims to give the young team the best of both worlds – a relaxing holiday in Thailand with excellent hospitality, and a one-of-a-kind learning opportunity to experience the local, authentic Thainess.
In order to provide an enjoyable and educational travel experience to youth, especially for first-time visitors, both students and teachers will have the opportunity to learn firsthand from the locals on the best practices about rice cultivation, an essential grain for their daily lives, at a rice mill in Ang Thong province.
The student group will also visit the Ban Bang Phlap, a local Thai community that allows visitors to plant and taste organic fresh fruits, produce organic fertilisers and most importantly learn to live in a green, natural Thai style.
In 2015 Thailand recorded 50 groups of students and young visitors who travelled from Hong Kong; 80% of students are first visits to Thailand.
Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications said, “The future lies in the hands of the young. The valuable experiences of this student trip will allow them to expand their worldview, as well as to appreciate and be part of the local Thai culture and live it.
“We believe school trips are an excellent opportunity to encourage youth to embrace local culture and develop their interest to explore the world. The young students are our ambassadors, and we hope they will take home with them meaningful memories of the visit.”
