TAT highlights ‘Amazing Green: A’Maze 2017’ sustainable agricultural tourism project

Bangkok, 31 October, 2017 -The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is highlighting ‘Amazing Green: A’Maze 2017‘, a family friendly sustainable agricultural tourism project that combines creative tourism with agricultural activities.

Scheduled from 18 to 26 November at the Kanchanaburi College of Agriculture, the interactive event invites visitors to wander through the nine-rai maze cut into a corn field. Before finding the exit, they will stop at different activity stations with tests on agricultural knowledge and information about Kanchanaburi province.

TAT Governor Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn said, “Amazing Green: A’Maze 2017 combines Thai local experiences with new tourism activities that would appeal to millennials, young families and couples.

“Children will get to develop their problem-solving skills and use their imagination through challenging games and activities, while adults will have fun and feel like kids again. Every kid wins while participating in agriculturally-based activities and will receive specially-designed eco-friendly prizes. Educational tourism activities like these focus on ‘creative thinking’ while adding value to agricultural products.”

The event is part of TAT’s effort to promote agricultural tourism in Thailand as the sector starts to become a trend worldwide. It also allows Thai local agricultural communities to share their knowledge and expertise with a younger audience while also finding new markets for products, according to Mr. Yuthasak.

Young family members aged four to 10 get to learn through playing in and around a spacious farm whilst engaging in both nature and agriculture. Besides the ‘Corn Maze’ and ‘Playground’ visitors are also invited to explore:

‘Farm Pavilion’ – where amateur farmers can be schooled by Thai professional farmers and experts. Children get to grow vegetables from seedlings, taking home plants to watch their development.

‘Eco-Product Exhibition’ – An exhibition that displays a selection of eco-friendly products as well as products that win the design contest. These award-winning products are all made of natural materials and designed to promote child development.

‘DIY Workshop’- invites visitors to make their own DIY crafts from agricultural products and materials at hand as it stimulates children’s imagination and emotional development.

‘Amazing Green: A’Maze 2017 Cafeteria’ – corn is the star of the show here and of course all Thai local corn treats served here will be ‘A’Maze-ing’.

Children under four (4) are admitted free; tickets for kids aged four (4) to 10 cost 750 Baht; everyone aged 11 or over pay 500 Baht inclusive of all activities, food and drinks.
