TAT and True-DTAC offer ‘Amazing Thailand Expat Privileges’

From now until 29 February 2024, exclusive benefits include discounts on tourism products and services and free entry to national parks.

Bangkok, 22 November 2023 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in partnership with True-DTAC is offering ‘Amazing Thailand Expat Privileges’ exclusively for expats to enjoy discounts on tourism products and services as well as free entry to national parks.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said “The Amazing Thailand Expat Privileges is designed to encourage expats to explore Thailand and enjoy a great value vacation at various Thai destinations. It reflects our new ‘Meaningful Relationship’ campaign to inspire travellers to engage in meaningful connections with every aspect of Thailand and share their memorable experiences with the world.”

Exclusive privileges for expats are available from now until 29 February 2024. Expats are advised to visit https://expatprivileges.com to search for special deals as well as a list of participating vendors in five categories – accommodation, restaurants, health and wellness, activities, and shopping. The website is in English and Chinese.

TAT is also working with the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) to offer expats free entry to Thailand’s national parks from 1 December 2023 to 29 February 2024. The list of national parks will be announced on the DNP website on 1 December. *(Updated on 4 December 2023): The DNP has informed that the temporary free-entry policy for expats will start from 15 December 2023.

Thailand is one of the world’s top tourist destinations and has long been a premier destination for long-stay travellers, including expats, retirees, remote workers, and digital nomads. It is estimated that more than 2.15 million expats currently living in Thailand.

Mr. Tanaphon Manavutiveth, Chief Marketing Officer of True Corporation Plc, said “About 54% of expats currently living in Thailand or 1.2 million are True-DTAC’s customers with the majority from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, India, and the ASEAN countries. They prefer quality tourism products and services that cater to their different lifestyles. As well as shopping, they enjoy travelling and long vacations.”

True Corporation Plc will leverage its extensive digital communication network to help promote the project among its foreign customers. It will also join hands with at least 700 operators in its list of partners to send a welcome SMS message regarding the ‘Amazing Thailand Expat Privileges’.

Existing True-DTAC’s foreign customers will receive the welcome message upon arrival at six of Thailand’s major international airports. These are Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports, Phuket International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Hat Yai International Airport, and Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai International Airport.

Those purchasing a new ‘Thailand Tourist SIM’ at a True Shop will receive the welcome message after activating the SIM card.
