Thailand champions tourism for all at the World Summit on Accessible Tourism 2025

TAT highlights Thailand’s leadership in inclusive and accessible tourism at the global gathering in Italy

Bangkok, 9 October 2025 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting inclusive and accessible tourism through Thailand’s participation in the World Summit on Accessible Tourism 2025 (WSAT 2025), held from 5–7 October at the Lingotto Conference Centre in Turin, Italy. Representing Thailand, Mr. Nithi “Nutty” Subhongsang, Managing Director of Nutty Adventure and Vice President of the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), shared Thailand’s successful models for advancing Tourism for All and highlighted the nation’s dedication to inclusivity on the global stage.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said “Thailand’s participation at WSAT 2025 reinforces our long-term vision to make tourism accessible for everyone. Inclusivity encompasses not only infrastructure but also empathy, innovation, and collaboration. We are proud to see Thai entrepreneurs sharing their expertise on the world stage and inspiring new ways for destinations to open their doors to all travellers.”

The WSAT 2025, themed “Destination for All,” brought together global leaders from government, business, international organisations, and civil society to advance the development of accessible tourism worldwide. The event featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, and presentations showcasing best practices, innovations, and real-world case studies that are shaping the future of equality in travel. It focused on building an open, inclusive, and accessible tourism ecosystem that welcomes people with disabilities, seniors, families, and travellers with mobility or other limitations.

The summit also underscored the importance of collaboration in creating a truly inclusive tourism environment, reflecting Thailand’s pride in contributing to this global vision. In his presentation, Mr. Nithi highlighted Thailand’s commitment to Tourism for All, outlining community-based approaches and sustainable travel models designed to serve people with disabilities, older travellers, and families with mobility needs. His participation positioned Thailand among destinations leading in inclusive tourism innovation and underlined the nation’s growing influence in global accessibility discussions.

Nutty Adventure, a multi-award-winning Thai tourism enterprise, has been widely recognised for its pioneering work in accessible travel. At the 15th Thailand Tourism Awards 2025, celebrating three decades of excellence, the company received three major accolades – the Thailand Sustainability Award for “Accessible Thailand Without Borders: From North to South for Visually Impaired Travellers,” the Hall of Fame Award for sustained contributions to inclusive tourism over three consecutive years, and the Award of Excellence for Inbound Tourism Programmes. These honours reflect the company’s dedication to creating meaningful experiences for visually impaired travellers and wheelchair users, while promoting Ayutthaya as a model city for accessible tourism.

TAT’s engagement at WSAT 2025 demonstrates Thailand’s ongoing commitment to champion Tourism for All, reinforcing its image as a welcoming destination that embraces diversity and accessibility as cornerstones of sustainable growth.
