Thailand and Bhutan strengthen tourism cooperation through reciprocal fam trips

TAT and Bhutan’s Department of Tourism organised reciprocal familiarisation trips in May 2026 under the “Two Kingdoms, One Destination” partnership. The exchanges connected Bhutan’s Thimphu, Paro, and Punakha with Thailand’s Krabi Prototype, supporting high-value wellness, sustainable tourism, joint product development, and culture- and nature-based travel.

Phuket International Airport will introduce automated passport channels for international departures from 13 June 2026. The new Automatic Border Channel system aims to support smoother passenger processing, while arrivals-area improvement works continue until 9 July.
