Thailand introduces enhanced baggage screening procedures: information for air travellers
Thailand will introduce revised checked baggage screening procedures from 16 October 2026. Suspicious bags may be opened without passengers present under controlled, video-recorded conditions, with notification afterwards. CAAT recommends TSA-compatible locks, checking prohibited items, and keeping valuables, fragile belongings, essential documents and personal necessities out of checked luggage where possible.
