CentralPlaza WestGate to open on 28 August

Bangkok, 3 August, 2015 – The 14-billion Baht CentralPlaza WestGate, dubbed the ‘super regional mall’ of Southeast Asia, is set to open on 28 August. The grand opening celebration will be held on 17 September.

The 500,000-square-meter shopping complex comprises Central Department Store with almost 40,000 square metres of space and an extensive range of products (to a similar level as CentralPlaza Ladprao in Bangkok); WestGate Cineplex features over 10,000 m2 offers new entertainment experiences with its 3,000 seats in 12 digital cinemas including the Kid Cinema; SB Design Square at CentralPlaza WestGate; Virgin Active Clubs, and Doraemon Comic World which is set to become a world-class attraction.

CentralPlaza WestGate is also a home for popular Thai and international brands of over 500 stores and a variety of products from CPN’s partners such as Power Buy, B2S, Office Mate, Super Sports, Tops Market and Tops Super Store. An international food centre, lifestyle dining, family dining and takeaway food services are all available on over 23,000 m2 of space. The activity zone and convention hall at CentralPlaza Westgate is capable of supporting over 3,000 people.

Talks are in place between Central Pattana Plc and Ikano Private Limited for CentralPlaza WestGate to feature an IKEA store in the future.

Built under the concept of “Have A BIG Life”, the decorations inside the shopping centre are a super-sized spectacle with enormous and colourful features along with special technology to build excitement such as the Welcome Gate, the Green Courtyard meeting point (where the 4th-floor-building height LED water features are located), the Rainbow Bridge, decorated by colourful LED lights, and the Beyond-Imagination music garden.

CentralPlaza WestGate is located on 100 rai of land at the Bang Yai Intersection between Kanchanapisek Road and Rattanathibet Road in greater Bangkok.
