Bangkok, 7 October 2025 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) last night hosted the “Amazing Thailand Mid-Autumn Night 2025” reception at One Bangkok, celebrating 50 years of Thailand–China friendship as part of the nationwide “Nihao Month” campaign. Welcoming 100 distinguished Chinese KOLs, content creators, and media representatives, the event coincided with China’s Golden Week and the Mid-Autumn Festival, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a preferred travel destination while strengthening cultural and people-to-people connections between the two nations.
Distinguished guests included Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Yang Xiao Long, Counsellor (Cultural Section) of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, Ms. Natreeya Taweewong, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, together with TAT executives. Their presence underscored the occasion’s significance as a bridge of friendship linking Thailand and China through shared heritage and tourism cooperation.

Held under the theme “Mid-Autumn Festival uniting Thai–Chinese culture and tourism,” the Amazing Thailand Mid-Autumn Night 2025 showcased Thailand’s image as a destination where culture, friendship, and travel converge. The event brought together 100 influential Chinese participants – 50 leading Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and content creators, and 50 winners of the “Thailand, Told by You” UGC Challenge – joined by Thai celebrities Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul and Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak.
Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, said “This celebration reflects the enduring friendship between Thailand and China, inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival’s values of unity, family, and reunion. As our nations mark 50 years of diplomatic relations, the phrase ‘China and Thailand are one family’ – Zhong Tai Yi Jia Qin – perfectly captures our long-standing bond. Through tourism, we continue to strengthen this connection, sharing smiles, understanding, and experiences that bring our peoples ever closer.”

The reception featured an engaging blend of Thai and Chinese cultural performances, symbolic activities, and celebrity participation that embodied the spirit of friendship and exchange. Highlights included a mooncake-making ceremony led by Minister Atthakorn, Mr. Yang, Ms. Natreeya, Ms. Thapanee, and singer-actor Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul, symbolising reunion and good fortune, as well as a dialogue on Thailand–China relations and tourism with actor Pong Nawat Kulrattanarak. Billkin also delighted guests with Thai and Chinese songs and heartfelt messages inviting Chinese travellers to experience Thailand’s charm.
The reception formed part of the “Thailand, Told by You” UGC Challenge and FAM Trip (5–10 October). Over the coming days, the 100 participants will continue to explore four destinations – Chiang Mai, Pattaya (Chon Buri), Phuket, and Ko Samui (Surat Thani) – to experience Thailand’s latest tourism offerings and share authentic impressions across major Chinese digital platforms, inspiring more travellers to follow their journey. Participants are also experiencing Thailand’s “5 Must Do” highlights – Must Taste culinary delights, Must Try immersive activities, Must Buy unique local products, Must Seek scenic attractions, and Must See vibrant festivals – showcasing the diversity of experiences that await Chinese visitors. Their itineraries also spotlight Thailand’s Smart and Sustainable Tourism direction through initiatives such as “Trusted Thailand”, which builds visitor confidence with high safety standards.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said “Nihao Month reflects TAT’s commitment to China as one of Thailand’s most important markets. Through creative marketing, cultural collaboration, and close cooperation with our partners, we aim to turn awareness into real travel. Last night’s celebration embodied the spirit of friendship and will help inspire new journeys throughout the upcoming festive and Lunar New Year seasons.”
As part of the Nihao Month 2025 campaign, TAT and its partners have launched a series of high-impact initiatives to stimulate Chinese travel and celebrate 50 years of Thailand–China friendship. These include nationwide joint promotions with major Chinese platforms such as Meituan, Ctrip, Tongcheng, Dianping, Alipay, WeChat, RED, and Douyin, offering discounts and exclusive privileges until 31 December; and the Chinese Passport Privilege programme, providing special offers at leading Thai retailers including Siam Piwat, The Mall Group, Central Embassy, One Bangkok, 7-Eleven, Lotus’s, Makro, and Tops.
From 1 January to 30 September 2025, Thailand welcomed 3,417,673 visitors from China. With Nihao Month serving as a key campaign, TAT expects arrivals to accelerate in the final quarter of the year, further strengthening tourism growth and celebrating the deep-rooted friendship between Thailand and China.
