Muay Thai boxing is an international phenomenon that’s gained a lot of diehard fans in recent years. In Thailand, March 17 is an important day for the ancient tradition. It’s Nao Khanom Tom or as it’s known in English, Boxer’s Day. That’s why 800 fighters from over 60 countries came to Thailand to celebrate the 11th Annual Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony.
iTravel Channel headed down to the ancient capital of Ayutthaya, about one hour north of Thailand’s present-day capital Bangkok. It was a chance for people to learn about the deep and sacred meaning behind the Muay Thai ritual known as Wai Kru.
