Bangkok, 4 September, 2015 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) this week welcomes 36 members of the Brazilian Tour Operators Association (Braztoa) as well as members of the Brazilian media to discover Thainess in the kingdom during its annual general meeting – held in Asia for the first time.
The meeting is organised alongside a specially-designed familiarisation trip and strategic trade meet in Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai from 2 to 9 September, 2015.
H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, graciously presided over the special welcome reception for the Braztoa delegates on 4 September at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
She said, “The activity is a fruitful result of Thailand’s participation in the WTM Latin America 2014, which was held from 23-25 April, at the Transamerica Expocentre in Sao Paolo, Brazil, during which a TAT high-level delegation had brokered the possibility of Braztoa arranging for its annual general meeting to be held in Thailand. We are very pleased and honoured that our effort has materialised into this Braztoa Fam Trip and Strategic Trade Meet in Thailand this week.”
The Braztoa Fam Trip and Strategic Trade Meet 2015 brings 36 participants, comprising 24 decision-making executives from Brazil’s major tour operators and two journalists, as well as 10 accompanying persons, for a showcase of Thai tourism products and services in Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.
In each destination, delegates will get the chance to experience first-hand Thailand’s unique services and attractions and discuss prospect business deals with Thai tourism business operators.
Braztoa brings together more than 90 companies and has been, since 1989, one of the most representative organisations of the tourism sector in Brazil. The Association has developed institutional actions, fostering actions to the development of the tourism sector, and promotion and support to marketing.
The Braztoa Fam Trip and Strategic Trade Meet 2015 in Thailand is hosted by TAT in collaboration with Emirates, Bangkok Airways, Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, and official hotels in Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai.
