The public are invited to extend their New Year blessings to King Rama X

Bangkok, 26 December, 2016 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to advise the public that on New Year’s Day, 1 January, 2017, the Bureau of the Royal Household will give people the chance to sign their names in commemorative books as a way of blessing the reign of the new monarch His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, or King Rama X.

The signing will take place in Bangkok’s Grand Palace in the Sala Sahathai Samakhom from 07:30 until 17:00 Hrs.

On the same day, there will be no access for tourists or mourners wishing to pay tribute to the Royal Remains of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, but the prayers and chanting of monks for the Royal Funeral Rites shall continue.

However, tourists will still be able to visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha  and the Grand Palace, except the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall, during the normal hours, from 08.30 – 15.30 Hrs.
