Nok Air, THAI, THAI Smile launch codeshare Bangkok-Mae Hong Son flight from 25 March

Bangkok, 16 February, 2018 – Nok Air is launching a new flight between Bangkok (Don Mueang) and Mae Hong Son on 25 March, 2018, with three flights per week operating on its 72-seat ATR72-500 aircraft. The new service will be operated under a codeshare agreement with Thai Airways International (THAI) and THAI Smile Airways.

The codeshare agreement between three Thai commercial airlines has been initiated to support the Thai government’s policy to promote tourism to secondary or smaller townships to boost tourism revenue.

Mae Hong Son is a destination located in Northern Thailand’s mountainous region that is known for its native lifestyle and culture that is unique when compared to other tourist destinations in the North.

Mr. Piya Yodmani, Nok Air CEO, said Mae Hong Son province has a beautiful nature with a variety of cultural diversity, and many travellers wish to visit. “The opening of this route would help making it more convenient for travellers and we hope to see positive feedback from all Thai and foreign passengers.”

The new Bangkok-Mae Hong Son service is expected to facilitate about 20,000 passengers per year.
