Bangkok hosts 4th Asian Organic Gourmet Festival on 22-25 March

Bangkok, 21 March, 2018 – Bangkok is hosting the 4th Asian Organic Gourmet Festival on 22-25 March at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences on Sukhumvit Soi 39.

Being held for the first time in the Thai capital, the event brings together a selection of top chefs, leading wellness consultants and some of the finest wine producers to showcase the importance of buying locally sourced produce, how to prepare the food healthily without losing any flavour, and how to pair the finished cuisine with the right wine.

This year, Chef Javier Rodriguez from Santiago del Estero in Argentina, Chef Colin Chung from Hawaii and Chef Tolgar Mireli from Turkey are joining Chef Anchalee Ponrungsit and the team in the kitchens at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences.

The main highlight is the daily Gala Dinner where the chefs put together a menu of the finest organic food paired with carefully scripted organic wine to create a culinary journey. The chefs will also share their experience and culinary wizardry in special cooking demonstration sessions scheduled to take place on 22 and 23 March, 11.00 Hrs. There is a Gala Finale Brunch Buffet on 25 March.

A special Wellness Day is scheduled on 24 March, with sessions conducted by wellness practitioners including how to find a balance in life, how to lead a healthier and happier life through carefully choreographed presentations and demonstrations, a “food as medicine nutrition” class, and a wellness cuisine cooking demonstration.

There is also a daily Farmers’ Market, where visitor can shop for locally grown organic produce such as rice and vegetables, as well as a whole range of refreshing drinks and delicious freshly prepared food.

Another important element of this annual event is the charity auction, of which this year’s donations will support is The Beaumont Partnership Foundation which was established to help serve needy communities in Thailand and provide education to rural children free of charge.  Last year in Chiang Mai, the event raised 236,000 Baht which was donated to the Warm Heart Charity, and organisers are aiming to considerably improve on that already substantial amount this year.
