The reception was attended by Mr. Ittipol Khunplome (in photo, centre), Vice Tourism and Sports Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor (right), Mr. Kalin Sarasin, Chairman of the Board of TAT (2nd from right), Mr. Wittaya Khunplome (left), Chief Executive of Chon Buri Provincial Administration Organisation, and Mr. Pakathorn Tienchai (2nd from right), Governor of Chon Buri province.

Mr. Itthipol, who was born and brought up in Pattaya, told delegates: “I have seen my home province change phenomenally over the decades. As a two-term Mayor of Pattaya, I can also claim to have contributed to that change from a small fishing village to Thailand’s first beach resort for foreign visitors into a world famous resort city.  There have been many ups and downs, but today I am proud to say that Pattaya and its surrounding regions are recognised worldwide as a family destination.

“We cater to tourists of all shades, providing a safe, relaxing, fun–filled stay, world-class hotels, wide variety of local and international restaurants, as well as shopping centres and markets featuring local OTOP handicrafts to global luxury labels, and more than 30 international standard golf courses,” said Mr. Itthipol.

Mr. Yuthasak, TAT Governor, said: “After two years of holding the TTM+ in the Northern Thai capital of Chiang Mai, we thought it was time to shift the focus to the Eastern Seaboard region where many new tourism developments are taking place.

“Delegates will be able to see how the beautiful beaches, diversity of amenities and accommodation and ability to host large events can be combined to make Pattaya and the entire Eastern Seaboard an outstanding destination for leisure, romance, business, adventure travel, ecotourism and conventions.”

The TTM+ continues on 14 June with tabletop networking and business sessions between the buyers and sellers, as well as media briefings. It will end on 15 June.
