The Phuket Airport Customs House has released an infographic on “5 Steps: Taking the Deceased Body Back Home” to help expedite the procedures for families and relatives to take the bodies of their loved ones back home.

With reference to our information released yesterday on the procedures to claim the bodies, families and relatives of the victims who are arranging to take the bodies back home are advised to follow the following steps:

  1. Families or relatives or their representatives of the deceased are advised to bring the body to Phuket International Airport’s Departure Terminal
  2. Contact their respective airlines to weigh the body and issue an airway bill and air cargo permit
  3. Contact the Phuket Airport Customs House to submit a form with documentation, including: original travel document of the deceased; original death certificate and medical certificate of death; copy of the police report (for death outside the hospital); airway bill; air cargo permit, and other required documents (if any)
