Phuket boat incidents: two injured tourists return home to China

The Emergency Tourist Assistance Centre arranged for two injured tourists to return home to Shanghai, China, last night.

On 8 July, 2018, at 19.00 Hrs, father and daughter, Mr. Wang Weili and Miss Wang Yiming, who suffered minor injuries from the recent boat incidents in Phuket, travelled back to their home with JuneYao Air’s Flight H01314 to Shanghai, China. Both expressed thanks to all involved for providing assistance during their difficult times, and said that they would return to Thailand again.

The Emergency Tourist Assistance Centre is a joint effort by Phuket province in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Phuket Immigration Office, the Phuket Consular Office of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Songkhla, Phuket Customs House, Phuket International Airport, Tourist Police, Thalang District Office, Sakhu Police Station, airlines, the Thai Hotels Association (THA) Southern Chapter, Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), Phuket Tourism Association (PTA), Patong Hotels Association, and Phuket’s Chinese-speaking Guides Club.

The Centre was established on 7 July, 2018, to provide assistance for affected tourists as well as their families and relatives.

Meanwhile, Phuket International Airport has announced that its passenger services centre is open 24 hours at the International Passenger Terminal, 3rd Floor, Departures Hall, and 1st Floor, Arrivals Hall, Tel: +66 (0) 7635 2363. At the Domestic Passengers Terminal, the Centre is located on the 1st Floor, Tel: +66 (0) 7635 1005.
