Phuket Boat Incidents: Thai Tourism Minister said: “We are deeply sorry”

H.E. Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, Minister of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, offered a sincere apology to the victims of the recent tragic Phuket boat incident and their families at the press conference held on 8 July 2018. The Minister, together, with officials and representatives from all the concerned agencies expressed deep regret with a solemn bow as seen in the later part of this video clip.

The Minister said: “This is the first time that we’ve made the official announcement of how many boys and little girls had lost their lives in this incident. We’re really deeply sorry for the lost ones and their families.”

TAT is monitoring and assessing the situation and will be providing further details as the situation develops. In the meantime, we would like to encourage travellers to obtain information from various sources to get a balanced understanding about the reality on the ground in Thailand, so that they can plan their trips accordingly.
