Ramayana Water Park Pattaya celebrates achieving 2nd spot in Asia and 12th in the world

Bangkok, 28 August, 2018 – Ramayana Water Park Pattaya recently celebrated its success of being voted as the largest and best water park in Thailand, the No. 2 in Asia and the No. 12 in the world in TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards.

Opened in 2016 with an investment of 1.5 billion Baht on a 106-rai area near Khao Chee Chan and Silver Lake Winery, the Park currently serves 7,500 tourists a day with its amusement features, more than 21 water slides, and a large number of recreation areas.

According to Mr. Stan Badekha, SEO of Ramayana Water Park, while more investments in terms of amusement and events facilities are being planned, the park is working to grow its marketing presence in Southeast Asia, China and India. It also plans to participate in more overseas roadshows and introduce more promotions for the Thai market.

Mr. Ittipol Khunpluem, Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports, commemorated Ramayana Water Park for being “another important tourist attraction that will bring in both foreign and Thai tourists to Chon Buri.”

According to Mr. Ittipol, Chon Buri is expected to welcome 17.5 million visitors this year, an increase of five per cent year-on-year. Sixty per cent of visitors are foreigners and another 40 per cent are Thais, with Pattaya, Bangsaen and Sattahip being the major destinations. Tourism helps generate about 240 billion Baht for the province annually.

He said: “Pattaya is currently being promoted as a family and sports tourism destination, while the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is placing emphasis on promoting the Eastern region in line with the government’s Thailand 4.0 national policy.

The Thailand 4.0 policy also includes the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), aiming at growing industries in Chachoengsao, Chon Buri and Rayong.

Mr. Ittipol said basic utilities in Chon Buri had been developed in preparation for systematic tourism growth, including the development of U-Tapao Rayong-Pattaya International Airport into a commercial airport to serve more domestic and international flights.
