Run between 1 April and 31 July, 2018, the competition was organised with the aim of boosting domestic travel to 55 secondary tourist destinations around Thailand. One of the various promotional activities in support of the TAT’s ‘Amazing Thailand Go Local’ and other similar cross-region travel campaigns that encourage people to visit various places in different regions on their travels. The competition received a wonderful response.

The competition was open to Thai tourists aged 18 to 35, who were asked to capture through their lenses impressive ‘tourism moments’ in any of the 55 secondary destinations. This included 16 provinces in the North of Thailand, 18 in the Northeast or Isan, seven in the Central Region, five in the East and nine in Southern Thailand.

At the awards ceremony, 140,000 Baht in prize money and prize tokens were presented to the first, second and third winning photographs as well as the 10 photographs chosen to share fourth place.

Selected for the delightful ‘tourism moments’ they portray and which between them capture the stunning landscapes and welcoming people of Amazing Thailand, all winning photographs will feature in the TAT’s promotional material on cross-region domestic travel and the 2019 calendar Osotho Magazine, the TAT’s popular monthly publication focusing on travel and lifestyle experiences throughout the Thai kingdom.
