The ‘ASEAN Together Run 2019’ was launched in September 2018 to correspond with TAT and the Thai government’s policy to promote Thailand as a sports tourism destination and hub, intra-regional travel and healthy exercise for people. It encourages people of all ASEAN nations to run both in their own country and in other ASEAN countries and to record their accumulated distances, which all goes towards a target accumulative distance for the initiative of 652,190 km – a figure equivalent to the current ASEAN population and an amount to be converted into donations to UNICEF.

Initially to conclude on 8 August, 2019, the ‘ASEAN Together Run 2019’ virtual running event has been extended and will continue through to 31 December, 2019. To date, results compiled by TAT show a total accumulative distance of 206,961 km has been achieved by 1,772 runners, of which 332 have run in more than one country.
