TAT invited 60 members of international media to observe the Royal Barge Rehearsal

Bangkok, 24 October, 2019 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) invited 60 members of media from international news agencies and representatives of international tour companies from 19 countries to observe the full-dress Royal Barge Rehearsal at the Thai Naval Auditorium on 21 October 2019.

As well as the opportunity to observe the full-dress rehearsal, TAT also invited Prof. Emeritus Thongthong Chandrangsu, an expert in royal ceremonies, to provide information on the history and tradition of the Royal Barge Procession and the ceremonial barges.

TAT Governor, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, said, “TAT is proud to have the opportunity to invited members of the international media as well as representatives of international tourism companies from 19 countries to observe the full-dress rehearsal. Their coverage will showcase Thailand’s historic event and unique royal traditions to the world, enhancing the positive image of the kingdom as a preferred destination.

“Special thanks to the Royal Thai Navy for designating seating area at the Thai Naval Auditorium for TAT’s guests as well as facilitating the group during the full-dress rehearsal.”

Members of the media from international news agencies from 19 counties included Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Dubai (UAE), Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovak Republic, Sweden, the UK and USA.
