TAT announces new Michelin Guide Bangkok, Phuket and Phang Nga 2019

Phuket, 15 May, 2018 – Following the introduction in December 2017 of the first Michelin Guide Bangkok 2018, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to announce that this year will see the launch of an expanded edition also covering Phuket and Phang Nga and with increased focus on Bangkok’s inner zone and surrounding provinces.

The Michelin Guide Bangkok, Phuket and Phang Nga 2019 will be released at the end of this year, in the same bilingual Thai and English format and in both print and digital versions.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said: “Along with Bangkok, Phuket and Phang Nga are another two fantastic gastronomic destinations in Thailand and it’s only natural the 2019 Michelin Guide be expanded to cover all three. Gastronomy tourism is a main element of our latest Amazing Thailand’s ‘Open to the New Shades’ communication concept and we are thrilled to have such a respected benchmark as Michelin to help us promote Thailand as a world-class dining destination.”

The Michelin Guide Bangkok, Phuket and Phang Nga 2019 will offer a wealth of information on the vast and varied culinary attractions and activities these destinations offer, from fine dining restaurants to the finest of food stalls. Also included will be accommodation options, thus adding further value to the guide.

Phuket’s signature foods and diverse eating culture saw it become the first city not only in Thailand, but also the ASEAN region in 2015 on the UNESCO Creative Cities listing for its gastronomic delights. Together with the unique local culture and beautiful natural environment, it makes Phuket a destination of gastronomy like no other.

Likewise, Phang Nga to the north of Phuket offers scenery just as stunning, and culture just as enchanting. The freshest and most succulent seafood that can be enjoyed in both destinations has to be tried to be believed.
