Bangkok gets new “EM District”

The EM District, located in the epicentre of Sukhumvit, will become the latest business district and tourist destination with the three world-class projects – The Emporium, The EmQuartier, The EmSphere, creating a total project area of 650,000 sq.m. and located on a 50-rai plot of land adjacent to Benjasiri Park.  To turn a new page of Thai retail history, the project is spending a 20-billion-baht budget plus to create what will become a world-class commercial hub and tourist destination.

“The EM District” will also serve as an iconic area of retail, business, office, residential and entertainment, supported by 50 billion baht investment from The Mall Group, investors, hotel entrepreneurs, tenants, entertainment centre, leading brands, and business partners. This world-class shopping complex will create jobs for Thai people and be the major driving force to bring prosperity to Bangkok.

The interior design of The Emporium, The EmQuartier, and The Emsphere combines fine architectural design with technological innovation to provide customers with the ultimate shopping experience which will also be reflected in the billion baht renovation of the 40,000-sq.m., Emporium Department Store.

The Emporium and The EmQuartier Gourmet Market, under the new concept of high-end and modern gourmet market, provides food and delicatessens from around the world. The EM District will also incorporate a world-class entertainment complex including:

QUARTIER CINEART by Major Cineplex Group is created under Stylish Art Gallery concept. It offers seven world-leading theatres and IMAX, with the latest entertainment technology.

EMPRIVÉ CINECLUB by SF Cinema City is completely renovated to become the six-star theatre under the concept of elegant and luxurious entertainment.

VIRGIN ACTIVE, as one of the greatest fitness club in the world, is located on 4,000-sq.m. This fitness flagship comprises workout area, club lounge, indoor swimming pool and spa pool.

KIDS CREATIVE PLAYGROUND promotes family and children’s imagination and creativity by offering them innovative rides and the first digital playground in Thailand.

The EM District consists of more than 10 venues and halls, such as The Quartier Hall, Parc Quartier, Quartier Avenue and Emporium Gallery, ranging from 200 to 2,000 sq.m. This will make it the centre of world-class exhibitions, activities and events, such as fashion, music and art festivals, and product launch. Nature features include 40-mere high The Quartier Falls as the highest man-made waterfall in Asia and Quartier Water Garden, the new garden paradise in Bangkok.

The EmQuartier has invested a total of 300 million baht, offering for the first time in Thailand Fully Automated Car Park, the latest and energy efficient technology from Germany.

In cooperation with BTS Group Holdings Plc., the company is turning BTS Prompong Station into EM District station, the first model station in Thailand. Under the concept of World Iconic Station, it comprises park plaza and skywalks that inter-connect The Emporium, The EmQuartier, and The Emsphere.

The EM District carries over 1,000 world-class Thai and international brands, shops, luxury fashion labels, technology, lifestyle, living and dining facilities. Several flagship stores under the latest concept, with the size ranging from 300 to 2,000 sq.m., are introduced to Thailand for the first time. Furthermore, it provides the largest dining and hang-out spot for Thai and foreign customers. These projects also incorporate luxury apartment, hip hotel, office and entertainment complex, which will elevate Sukhumvit to a powerful district and attract shoppers and tourists from around the world.
