Bangkok, 8 April, 2018 – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has provided its support for ‘The Diplomat Splash’ Songkran 2018 celebration, organised by The Nomad TV Show at the Centara Grand at CentralWorld hotel. The event was attended by ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps from foreign embassies and consulates in Thailand, with many distinguished guests wearing colourful Songkran floral print shirts to join in the meaningful and fun moments.
The TAT hoped that the activity would enable members of foreign diplomatic corps, especially the newly arriving diplomats, to ‘Open to the New Shades’ of unique Thai local experiences while celebrating the Thai New Year.
The TAT is also planning to organise a trip for foreign diplomats in Thailand to visit emerging secondary destinations. Delegates will be encouraged to wear traditional Thai period costume or Thai clothing during the trip. This is as part of the plans to promote tourism and help strengthen diplomatic relations.
