Bangkok, 27 June, 2018 – General Prayut Chan-o-cha (second from left), Prime Minister of Thailand, and Mr. Emmanuel Macron (second from right), President of France, witnessed the new joint venture agreement between Thai Airways International (THAI) and Airbus to establish a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at U-Tapao International Airport.
The agreement was signed by Mrs. Usanee Sangsingkeo (left), THAI Acting President, and Mr. Patrick de Castelbajac (right), Airbus Executive Vice President Strategy & International, at Palais de l’Élysée, French Presidential Palace.
Constructing the MRO facility at U-Tapao International Airport will create one of the most modern and extensive services in the Asia-Pacific region, bringing significant economic benefits for THAI and Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
The EEC is a core mega project of the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy, designed to develop world-class innovative technology-based manufacturing and services within the country.
