Phuket Smart Bus offers new public transportation option

Bangkok, 26 September, 2018 – Thailand’s popular resort island of Phuket has been seeing the ‘Phuket Smart Bus’ rolling in action since 1 April along its west coast, from the airport to Rawai Pier or the ‘blue line’.

From Phuket International Airport, the Phuket Smart Bus service passes many popular beaches including Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata and Rawai, covering a 56-kilometre scenic route.

The daily bus service is available from 06.00 – 20.15 Hrs., at 45-minute intervals, with over 50 stops along the route in each direction. The travelling time is about 2-3 hours. The bus fare is based on the travelling distance, from 50-170 Baht.

Passengers can pay for the ride, using an e-money service ‘Phuket Rabbit Card’, which can be purchased on the bus at 300 Baht each, of which 100 Baht is the card fee and 200 Baht is the value available for payment.

Each Phuket Smart Bus offers 23 seats and is equipped with a luggage storage area, free Wi-Fi connection, USB ports and CCTV cameras both inside and outside the bus. All buses are wheelchair accessible.
